Welcome
- As of September 30, 2008, Terra Partners Ltd. and Terra Partners Group managed over 160 million USD in both Worldwide Opportunity Fund (Cayman) Ltd. ("WWOF"), a multi-class mutual fund and Discover Investment Company ("Discover"), both incorporated in the Cayman Islands and regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.
WWOF has a number of classes, each having its own specific investment objective with its own specific terms and conditions set forth in a supplement to the Offering Memorandum. Currently open classes invest in Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Globally.
Discover has two classes of shares, one investing in emerging Europe and the other in Asia, in particular in Vietnam. Their shares can be subscribed and redeemed on a monthly basis (mid month). Information can be obtained by request from Terra Partners.
WWOF's Global Class attempts to achieve capital appreciation with a low variance while reducing risk by applying a disciplined and diversified value investing philosophy. This class invests the majority of its assets in a variety of smaller and overlooked markets that lack significant foreign institutional followings. In general, WWOF's Global Class seeks to invest in securities trading at low Price to Earnings Ratios, low Price to Book Value Ratios and/or which have high yields, but it may also invest in growth stocks if the manager feels they are trading at reasonable discount to the expected value of future dividends and capital appreciation. While the targets will include many emerging markets, an area where some countries have experienced high volatility, this Class intends to limit risk by investing in a wide base of markets which have, in the past, exhibited low correlation to standard global indexes, even in situations of global financial crises. There is no guarantee such lack of correlation will continue in the future or that it will be sufficient, or able, to limit risk. The Fund intends to concentrate its investments in markets where it has, or can obtain, a competitive advantage by becoming a relatively important investor in that market through performing its own intensive, on the ground buy-side research. This policy anticipates seeking out markets where there is little research of any kind being offered by a Western firm and most often none published by the market participants.
Our investors are highly respected financial institutions, listed and private, Fund of Funds, and high net worth individuals, primarily from Europe with some from the United States and elsewhere.
